I was standing in the garden, water falling from the hose.
Suddenly I felt it—
it came and took my woes.
All the pain and all the sorrow
were whisked beyond my self.
It was taken and demolished,
then placed upon a shelf.
A gust of wind, out of the blue,
just found me in my garden.
It cleansed me as I shut my eyes,
a baptism from heaven.
In one brief, drifting moment,
my hair took flight through sky,
then swirled around me briskly
And sang a lullaby.
I felt forgiveness wrap around my body,
and settle all my pain.
A wind that knew and carried me,
with nothing else to gain.
Just asked for nothing, gave me peace,
It knew just what I’d needed.
and let my heavy heart release,
A silent call I heeded.
Then, just as fast as it arrived,
it left without a sound.
I knew what it had meant to say
Forgiveness … I have found.
